Faith Without Works is Dead
In the name of Lord Jesus Christ and with His great blessings, committee members of the Myanmar Training Centre are dutifully and faithfully giving their services for the Kingdom of God. A regular monthly meeting was held at Salai Aung Chit's residence on 27th of August, initiated with a prayer by Samo Tin Soe.
Roman 8:26-27 was read, followed by prayers in Holy Spirit for 15 minutes and talking for 15 minutes regarding our future plans to buy a land plot, evangelistic activities for the sick people and the Mission Dinner on 14th October.
Then, Dr. Aung Thaik explained about his evangelistic trip to Wine-Chaung village, with Salai Chit Maung. It was witnessed that they have made arrangements for short-term Biblical studies for youths at Min-Gan village, treatment for the sick people and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Here, I would like to report about some activities and work done by our fellow members:
Pastor Salai Kyaw Zin Latt had been traveling around the rural areas such as Ko-Pen, Pauk- Pin , Thi-Gone, Kyauk-Ai and Htone-Taung villages, healing the sick and removing evil spirits. The pastor, accompanied with prophet Lukar, went to Ye-Aye village, 23 miles from Tha-Yet. Their endeavors were blessed, with three non-believers discriminately accepting the Lord Jesus Christ, and being baptized.
Salai Myo Kyi who gives all his life for lepers (leper ministry) attends "Tha-Ya-Gone" leper community daily. Daily prayers and mass meetings are his constant routine work. He is trying to build a house to be occupied by a leper, which would be permitted by the local authorities, but would actually be a church. It will cost about 500,000 kyats. (Approximately 500 USD). We are believing and praying for this.
Daw Khin Mar Oo, the secretary, fasts every Saturday and practices healing sessions with 'Htwe Htwe' Pyae-Sone and Nan-da Soe (daughter of Samo Tin soe) regularly. On every Thursday and Friday night, she presides an international curriculum bible study program.
Samo Tin Soe runs a program in the houses of believers showing VCDs of 'Supernatural Living and Healing'. He traveled to Oak-Shit-Pin village and Toat-Kwin, Nyaun-Kone Baptist Churches, showing 'The Life of Christ' tsunami flood victims VCD 'Count down Armageddon'. From 18th-22nd August, he has been in Yangon working on the FEBC Radio Program and attended a Myanmar Evangelical Christian Fellowship meeting.
U Phone Lun leads a bible study at the Sunday School of our men's fellowship.
Samo Myat Hsaung teaches the scriptures among the men's community every Sunday night.
U Thein Hlaing prays for the evangelical movement in Asho.
Samo Tin Myint preaches at the Sunday service and visits every home of people who are Baptist church members.
Salai Taik Maung goes to Sit Saba village to preach the Gospel and attend a men's fellowship committee meeting.
I would also like to talk about the land plot we are going to buy at Tha-Yet. Mr. Ba Hla and Dr. Khin Maung Win suggest buying the house that is situated between Myanmar Police Force Training Compound and Asho Baptist Church. The house includes electricity and water supply. We do not recommend buying a new plot because:
(1) there are complicated procedures to deal with the authorities concerned
(2) it will take time to build a new house and there is a lot of work involved
If we buy abovementioned house:
(1) we don't have to deal with authorities
(2) we don't have to face the difficulties of building a new house
(3) The house is already there. We just have to renovate it as we like
(4) The price of the plot and house is 2,500,000 kyat (approx 2,500 USD)
(5) The legal form of the map of the plot size is 2.22 acre
(6) Joseph Schneider has already seen the plot
Please pray that we would be able to purchase this plot.
