Lives Protected in the Midst of Turmoil
Greetings from your family and church members here in Imphal.
Today we had another general strike here in Manipur. It seems that our state is always heading from bad to worse. We have also had very sad news that one of our church members at P.Thianzawl village (Happy Valley) died. Because of our heavy workload and busy schedules, even during the general strike, I am staying back at our office as there is a lot of paperwork to be done in our ministry for the upcoming two crusades in Churachandpur and Imphal. Khaiboi Vaiphei and our pastor in Imphal went to P.Thianzawl village for the funeral service. Because of the strict strike I told them to be very careful and to drive the car a different way where they would be diverted from the road. We prayed and sent them and by God’s protection they arrived back safely after the funeral. Khaiboi is now again in our office to do some official paperwork. It is now 5:30pm.
Our ministry is getting stronger each day, as we always work hard to keep this organization a strong one that is functioning smoothly for the glory of God. We pray that in the future every tribe, language group and nation in India will come and seek our help and guidance, so that we can lead and guide people to the knowledge of truth and light. Let our Diplomat Centre be a place where people find peace. Let every tribe and language group find the salvation of Christ through VCC & ROLWE and the peace of God. Let VCC & ROLWE always lead people to Christ. Let VCC & ROLWE become the bridge of Hope for every nation, tribe and language. This is our prayer.
Our team and church members keep visiting hospitals and keep praying for the sick. Last weekend some of our church members visited hospitals and prayed for the many sick people there and many people got healed in the hospital through the prayers of our team.
Second report from the field 1st of August 2006:
Greetings from your family and church members here in Imphal.
We are pressing the Bible Society to urgently print the 10,000 bibles we paid for. They are in great demand for our people. We are asking them to complete the printing very soon. Their response is very slow, but we persist as we want the bibles to be printed and given out immediately. However, we are powerless to do anything else at this stage, but we will keep reminding them until they finish the printing. We hope to get the bibles soon. Please tell our beloved brothers who have donated funds for the bible printing that we will never cease to pursue the matter with the bible printers until we get our bibles printed. We thank them from our hearts for their generous gifts and as soon as we get the bibles, we will inform them.
Tomorrow, early in the morning, I will be going again to Churachandpur to visit several churches and to have a meeting with several church leaders for more talks about the Crusade. There are many things to be organized so it takes many meetings and many discussions. Please keep praying for the organization of the crusades and for our personal safety. You are aware of the situation in Manipur, that life is very dangerous. We only find our security in Christ. Please keep praying for us.
Today, early in the morning at 4am, a terrible thing happened. Calvin Cottage (The women and her daughter Sim) is located just opposite the Diplomatic Centre, only five feet from our gate. A bomb exploded in the early morning and caused great fear in our locality. All their water tanks on the roof were blown away, and all their glass windows were shattered into pieces. It was terrible- like a nightmare for us. It caused great fear amongst the people. Many trembled with great fear.
Fortunately by God’s grace and His protection no one was injured. God protected us and He will continue to guide and protect us and give us security in Christ. The family of the house owner are all well and did not get injured, praise God. After several calls, the police eventually arrived after one hour.
We really need your prayers for our protection. Please keep praying for us as our state is always heading towards the worst condition. We are always living with fear as the conditions are so dangerous.
There is another general strike today, this time it was imposed by the Kuki people. They burned car tyres in the middle of the road and blocked the road with broken glass.
We love you dear Papa, and we always praying for you all. Please give our love and regards to our Mummy Vaiphei.
